Body of flood victim found near Anderson, MO
Volunteer search party found body in wooded area
ANDERSON, Mo — The following is a press release from Anderson police chief Seth Daniels:
On 06/29/2019 at approximately 9:02am, Linda D Kuykendall was found deceased approximately 3.5 miles from where she went missing. In a coordinated effort with volunteers from our local National Guard, we were able to organize a ground search this morning. Approximately 60 people came from neighboring counties and Arkansas to assist in the search. Kuykendall was located approximately 15 minutes after crews began their search.
On 06/23/2019 the city of Anderson experienced heavy flooding, which caused the home Kuykendall was in to be swept off of its foundation and downstream. This brings to an end, 6 days of searching, utilizing foot searches, drones, cadaver dogs, boats and a helicopter.
Anderson Police Department would like to thank the many volunteers, assistance from local and neighboring law enforcement agencies, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, first responders and everyone else who put in hundreds of man-hours to bring this search to an end for the family.
Seth N Daniels
Chief of Police
