Body found outside Eagle Picher in Joplin
Update: Joplin Police Captain William Davis says the body has been identified as Adam J. Wahtola, 30, of Joplin. They have notified next of kin. The coroner’s office has completed the autopsy and are waiting on toxicology reports to come back to help determine the cause of death. They found nothing suspicious during the autopsy.
JOPLIN, Mo. – An Eagle Picher employee finds a body on the company’s property near the fence line.
According to Joplin Police Captain William Davis, authorities were called a little after 1:00 p.m. this afternoon to 1216 W. C Street. Police say an employee found the body of an adult male about 150 feet inside the property.
Davis says there are no obvious signs of cause of death. An officer on scene says the man appeared to be in his 30’s. Police are trying to determine the man’s identity and cause of death.
