Body Found In Oklahoma Could Be Missing Arkansas Woman

DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities discover a body in northeast Oklahoma after finding items belonging to a missing woman.

On Monday, October 25, 2021, investigators from the Springdale (AR) Police Department, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office (OK) and the OSBI were in Oklahoma near the Kansas border searching for Ava Theresa Moore. Around 11:00 a.m., they found a body and believe it to be Moore’s. It was near East 570 Road and 600 Road in Delaware County, Oklahoma.

Authorities were searching that area because the day before, they found items belonging to Moore. They also found her missing vehicle unoccupied a short distance from her purse.

Ava Moore, 82 of Springdale, has been missing since October 20, 2021. Springdale authorities learned she was missing from her home on Carly Road and that her vehicle was also missing. So, they began an active search for her.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office will determine a positive identification and manner and cause of death.

Local law enforcement requested the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for further investigation. The missing person report on Moore said she’s believed to be sound of mind and health. According to her family, it is very peculiar for her to leave without notifying someone.
