Body found in Cherokee County has been identified
Baxter Springs, Kans. — *UPDATE*
Sheriff David Groves has released the following statement involving the body found today in Baxter Springs.
“The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Baxter Springs Police
Department are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 56 year-old Michael Hart, whose body was found in the 1300 block of Kansas Avenue on Wednesday.
The preliminary investigation continues, and while there is no indication of foul play at this time, detectives request anyone who has had interaction with Mr. Hart since Tuesday afternoon, contact the Cherokee County Investigation Bureau at 620-429-3992.”
Cherokee County Sheriff’s office and Baxter Springs Police are investigating a body found.
According to Sheriff David Groves, the body was found between 12th and 15th street on Kansas Avenue on the far side of Baxter Springs.
Authorities currently have 12th to 15th street blocked off to the public. There is no indication yet if foul play was involved or not.
