Biking for safety
JOPLIN, Mo. – A group motorcycle ride took palce in Joplin on Sunday aimed at raising awareness for biker safety.
The group met up at Cycle Connection on East Seventh in Joplin.
After some time just hanging out, dozens of bikers put their kick stands up and took a short ride through the city.
Organizers say this ride is even more important following some recent motorcycle fatalities in the area.
“Today is all about just trying to raise awareness, let people see a big group of motorcyclists wanting to spread some news about sharing the road and lets save some lives,” said Nancy Hutson with Cycle Connection.
The bikers wrapped up the hot day of riding with a stop at a local ice cream shop.
