Baxter Springs changes how dispatch services are handled

BAXTER SPRINGS, Kan. – The Baxter Springs Police Department has contracted to have all of their dispatch services handled by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials all other communities in the county already used the sheriff’s office for dispatch, and Baxter Springs is the last to join in.

According to the department, they will still have staff at the police station Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:00, and 911 is still who you call for an emergency.
