Baker sets record, wins Briarbrook Invitational

Carthage resident Tug Baker won the Briarbrook Invitational in Carl Junction on Sunday, and he did it in record-setting fashion.

Baker won the three day tournament with a total score of 200, a new tournament record.

He started the tournament by firing off back-to-back rounds of 66 in the first two days, putting him at 12-under heading into Sunday’s final round. Baker finished the final 18 holes 4-under par, putting him at 16-under for the tournament. It’s his second career win at the Briarbrook Invitational.

Baker finished five shots clear of Garrett Stallings, who finished 11-under par for the tournament.
