Authorities identify man wanted in a Newton County home invasion
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — Authorities identify the man wanted in a home invasion in Newton County as Jason Arthur Duncan.
The Newton County Prosecutors office has charged him with Robbery 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Assault 1st Degree and Burglary 2nd Degree.
Authorities say on Tuesday (Aug 3), Duncan, 34, was allegedly robbing a home when the homeowner showed up. Duncan is then accused of shooting at the homeowner, but hitting a vehicle instead.
Sheriff Chris Jennings says deputies began a search for the suspect that evening in the area of Mulberry and Highway H. They had not identified him at that time.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office continues to search for Duncan and investigators are following up on all leads.
“It is believed he is armed and dangerous. Do not approach or attempt to apprehend. Call 9-1-1 immediately and provide a location and direction of travel.”
