Authorities arrest alleged stabbing, burglary suspect after chase across state lines

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Kan. – Authorities capture a suspect in Pittsburg after a chase that ran across state lines.

The suspect was driving a stolen vehicle out of Joplin.

Officers picked up the pursuit of the driver who was wanted for an alleged stabbing and burglary.Chase Ends In Arrest

Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputies joined in the chase entering Kansas on Highway 171.

The chase ended when officers deployed stop sticks at 4th and the bypass.

The suspect reportedly went into a wet ditch, lost control and struck a pole.

A deputy in the pursuit also hit the ditch, sliding into the suspect’s car.

The suspect ran on foot a short distance before surrendering near 9th and Michigan in Pittsburg.

No injuries were reported and the suspect was taken to the Crawford County Jail.

According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Joplin Police Department, Jasper County SO, the Pittsburg Police Department, and Kansas Highway Patrol all aided in the pursuit.
