Another successful Polar Plunge in Pittsburg

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The second Saturday of February means it’s time for the annual polar plunge in Pittsburg!

The Crimson Villas on Rouse hosted the Pittsburg plunge this year. Teams could register to take the chilly plunge to help raise money for area Special Olympics.

This year’s largest group was the Pitt State cheer squad.

“We had a great turn out: 21 teams and over 150 plungers. Every year, we keep getting bigger and bigger. Somebody tells somebody who did it one year, or we’ll have one team that didn’t raise their goal so they’ll try and beat it next year,” said Chris Moore with the Pittsburg Police Department.

KOAM’s own Tawnya Bach and Michael Hayslip once again emceed the event this year.
