A visual history lesson in King Jack Park

Mural For The Praying Hands Statue

WEBB CITY, Mo. – There’s something new to check out in Webb City’s King Jack Park that will give you a local history lesson!

Near the iconic Praying Hands monument, visitors can now find a tile mural that tells the story of how local artist Jack Dawson created the famous statue.

Dawson told KOAM that he didn’t see the mural until it was completed, and viewing it took him back to the 70s when he made the Praying Hands.

Dawson also says the mural reminds him of all the assistance he got from 4-Staters who helped make the statue a reality.
