A very special birthday party

The Surviving Family Of Two Fire Victims Found A Way To Give Back

ALBA, Mo. – Plenty of people came out for a unique birthday party in Alba, Missouri on Saturday and helped raise money for a good cause.

The event was described as a “heavenly birthday party” because the birthday girl, Laynee Norris perished in a fire back in February along with her sister Kynzee.

Attendees honored the birthday girl’s memory and also raised money for fire safety and prevention.

Smoke alarms were given out to families in attendance because those who love Laynee and Kynzee don’t want to see this type of tragedy happen again.

“The family, even though they’re really grief-stricken about it, want to prevent other families from losing children or whole families by helping them get the smoke detectors they need,” said party attendee Lynn Hamon.

A Facebook page has also been set up where those in need of a new smoke detector who can’t afford one can find help, and folks looking to donate money towards fire safety can help out.
