Carl Junction, Mo. – Authorities in Carl Junction, Missouri charge a woman with statutory rape. Authorities say while investigating a burglary case they went into a home to arrest a suspect and found Francesca Mathis, naked, in a room with a minor. After questioning, Mathis admitted she knew the minor was underage and that they had an ongoing sexual relationship.

Miami, Okla. – An Ottawa County commissioner says he did *not* tell the sheriff to cut his full-time deputies. On Monday, Sheriff Floyd said he had been told he’d have to cut his full-time staff to make payroll. But Commissioner Chad Masterson says that’s not what was said. He says the undersheriff was told other counties have had to run on just a sheriff and reserve officers and that the commission is not considering that. The sheriff’s office currently has four full-time deputies.

Joplin, Mo. – Through the overnight hours officers across the 4-States were out on the streets to keep you safe as you celebrated. That includes one of two Joplin DWI officers, Officer Jared Swann. Swann says he’s been on a mission to protect people after his brother was hit by a drunk driver in 1999. He says us one of the benefits of ridesharing services is a decrease in the number of people out drinking and driving.

Oklahoma City, Okla. – Oklahoma’s governor says some local casinos will have to shut down their slot machines, blackjack and roulette tables. On Tuesday, Governor Kevin Stitt said if a deal was not reached on a new gaming agreement the state’s casinos will have to shut down those games. That deadline was at midnight. So far only two tribes have signed on to the deal. 35 tribes operate casinos in Oklahoma. According to an employee at Downstream Casino, those games were still running when the clock struck midnight.
