A 4-State college celebrates 100 years
FORT SCOTT, Kan. — Fort Scott Community College started on September 8th, 1919, with only 17 students. Back then, the college set up class on the second story of the local high school.
100 years later, officials say FSCC averages more than 3,000 students enrolled through five locations.
The Centennial Committee invited the public out to celebrate the 100-year mark, starting with a dedication ceremony. Former students and employees briefly shared their favorite FSCC memories.
Attendees then took part in a photo op and a free barbeque lunch.
