$5.5 million bond would pay for storm shelters at McDonald County schools
McDonald County voters will decide whether to approve a bond issue that would help pay for three FEMA shelters at county schools.
Currently, the 428 square mile district doesn’t have any storm shelters.
A $5.5 million bond would help pay for shelters at the McDonald County High School, the Pineville Elementary campus and Southwest City Elementary.
All shelters would be multi-purpose with classrooms and either a gym or fine arts center attached.
Voters will decide the issue on April 2.
The bond would also pay for a new vocational agriculture workshop.
