JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — About 6:45 p.m. Thursday evening Jasper County Emergency 911 were alerted to reports of a tractor trailer crash near Baseline and Civil War Road, north of Carthage.

Jasper Fire Rescue, Mercy Ambulance and Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

The tractor trailer overturned, blocking westbound side of Baseline Blvd/State Route M.

Tpr A.J. Cook of Troop D tells us on scene that tractor trailer was traveling east on Baseline. The driver said he lost his rear wheels off the edge of the road and tried to overcorrect and it rolled to its side.

The driver remains on the scene and declined medical attention.

“The trailer is loaded with 45,000 pounds of dog food,” Tpr Cook says.

Schrader’s Towing will remove the load from the box trailer before setting both of them upright.

It’s estimated the cleanup and removal could take until midnight.

“Use caution or try to avoid the area of Base Line Blvd. and Civil War Road. We just finished working a crash with an overturned semi and there will be trucks working to off load and upright the vehicle.”    — JASPER FIRE & RESCUE
