The NEO Golden Norsemen are 2-0 to start the season. Last Saturday they had to work for their second win of the year, overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit to beat Georgia Military 14-10.

Saturday will be another tough game for the Norsemen, hosting the Trinity Valley Cardinals for their Southwest Conference opener. Trinity Valley was ranked #12 in the country before losing to Tyler last weekend.

These two teams split their two meetings last year, with both of those games being played in Texas. This time, NEO will have home field advantage.

“Going down there is always difficult,” says NEO head coach Zach Allen, “I know people in our conference know how difficult we try to make it up here. So you’ve got to take care of your home turf, you’ve got to take advantage of the crowd that we have and the energy that our stadium brings. Hopefully that’s going to be a factor in Saturday’s game.”

Saturday’s game will kick off at 6 PM Saturday evening.
