Warrants issued for two former Delaware County Sheriff’s Office employees
DELAWARE COUNTY, Okla. – Warrants are issued for two former jailers with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office after an investigation shows inmates were being tased without just cause.
The investigation began in late December.
37-year-old Charles Hayes and 45-year-old Shelly Mayberry, both of Grove, Oklahoma both were issued felony warrants.
Hayes is being charged with seven counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and his bond is set at $70,000.
Mayberry is being charged with two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and her bond is set at $20,000.
Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore says he is “very disappointed in the actions of these two ex-employees.”
