2 more charged in Barry County murder
BARRY COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities arrest and charge two more suspects after a man is found dead with a gunshot wound.
On May 28, 2021, Barry County 911 took a call about a deceased person in a field by the road. The Sheriff’s Office got to the scene, near Farm Road 1078 and FR 2140, and determined it to be a possible homicide. They asked for help from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Authorities identified the victim as 25-year-old Daylon Michael Anderson of Monett, Missouri. He died from a gunshot wound.
The Sheriff’s Office arrested two more suspects: Carlos M. Gutierrez and Jonathan R. Marquez.
The Prosecutor’s Office filed the following charges against them in the death of Anderson.
- Second degree murder
- First degree robbery
- Tampering with physical evidence
They have also charged a third suspect, Dylan Williams, with second degree murder and armed criminal action.
The Sheriff’s Office says it was a targeted event and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
