15-year-old dies in Montgomery County crash
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. – A 15-year-old Tennessee boy dies in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Kansas.
It happened on July 8, 2020, on US 169 at the US 400 junction.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a van was traveling north on US 169 when a car failed to yield to the van in the intersection. The van hit the car in the front right door.
There were four people in the car.
Devin Thurman, 15, of Rockwood, TN, was taken to the hospital where he died.
The driver, age 21, and a passenger, age 13, of the car were hospitalized with “suspected serious” injuries. A fourth passenger, age 5, had a “suspected minor” injury.
The driver of the van had a “suspected minor” injury.
