1400 people participate in Joplin Turkey Trot
JOPLIN, Mo. — The cold and rainy weather did not stop 1400 people from participating in the 8th annual Joplin Turkey Trot.
The runners could partake in either a 1-mile run or the 5k course.
It started and ended in front of Joplin City Hall.
Organizers were collecting scarves for ‘Chase the chill Joplin’ and some proceeds will go towards the ‘Building Bridges’ organization.
“Everyone gets a medal, It’s the best way to kick off the holiday weekend with the family.” said Finish Line Coordinator, Lynnette Lee.
This year the trot was down by at least 200 participants from last year because of the weather.
