$113 million in federal money coming to Joplin
Millions of additional federal relief dollars are headed to Joplin.
The money is from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s block grant and is to aid in the rebuilding efforts from the tornado.
Joplin will receive more than $113 million.
In addition, the state of Missouri will receive more than $11 million to support long-term activities in areas hit hard by severe storms and tornadoes in the spring of 2011.
The total amount of federal money provided for the recovery effort in Joplin now exceeds $350 million.
